Railway Recruitment Board ALP 2018: EXAM PATTERN

Railway Recruitment Board Assistant Loco Pilot & Technician RRB ALP selection will be based on 4 stages as follows:

  1. First stage CBT
  2. Second stage CBT
  3. Computer Based Aptitude Test (only for ALP)
  4. Document Verification

 

 

First Stage CBT

The First Stage CBT is of screening nature & will be of the following pattern:

General Awareness on Current Affairs

 

 

Second Stage CBT

The Second Stage CBT shall have two parts viz Part A and Part B as detailed below:

Part A Maths 100 90 Mins
General Intelligence & reasoning
Basic Science & Engineering
General Awareness on Current Affairs
Part B Relevant Trade 75 60 Mins
Total 175 2 Hours 30 Mins
  • There shall be negative marking for incorrect answers in First and Second Stage CBT.
  • 1/3rd of the marks allotted for each question shall be deducted for each wrong answer.
  • If you have applied for ALP and qualified in Second Stage CBT will have to appear for Computer Based Aptitude Test followed by┬áDocument Verification.
  • There shall be no negative marking for Computer Based Aptitude Test.
  • The Computer Based Aptitude Test shall have questions and answer options only in English and Hindi.
  • If you are applying for Technicians then you will be directly called for┬áDocument Verification after both the stages of CBT.

 

 

Computer Based Aptitude Test

(Only for candidates who have opted for ALP)

Qualifying marks:

  • The candidate needs to secure a minimum score of 42 marks in each of the test batteries to qualify.
  • This is applicable to all candidates and no relaxation is permissible.

Document Verification

If you qualify both the stages of CBT in case of Technicians & both stages of CBT and CBAT in case of Assistant Loco Pilot then you will be invited for Document Verification.

Final Selection

The ALP Merit List will be drawn from the candidates qualifying in the Aptitude Test, with 70% weightage for the marks obtained in the Part A of Second Stage CBT and 30% weightage for the marks obtained in Computer Based Aptitude Test.
